SewerGEMS error : "Not enough information to compute a network. You need at least one catchment and outfall to compute a network."

Hi,
Could you help me with this error in sewerGems : "Not enough information to compute a network. You need at least one catchment and outfall to compute a network."?
How can I resolve it?

  • Hello Julia,

A SewerGEMS model needs to have at least one active catchment and one active outfall. If these do not exist, or if they are inactive, this message will occur. You can open the catchment flextable and the outfall flextable to confirm if these element types are there. If not, you will need to include them.

    Regards,

    Scott

  • Hi Scott,

When I active network navigator to search catchment without outfall, nothing is found. Do you have another tip?

  • Hello Julia,

We will likely need a copy of the model. You can use the steps here to send this.

  • Hello Julia,

What kind of a network are you analyzing? All networks should end in an outfall typically.

As my colleague Scott suggested, it would be a good idea to check your catchment flex-table to look for catchments. If you can't see any check if any active filter is applied (you will see a message at the bottom of the flex-table, " X of Y elements displayed"). Remove that filter. Refer this link to resolve that issue.

You can also check if inactive elements in your model setup are invisible.

    Making inactive elements disappear

If this is the case, then you need to "check on" the "display inactive topology" option as shown in the above article.

Lastly which solver are you using? You can find the solver from Calculation Options (Home > Calculation > Options > Base Calculation Options).

if you are still unable to locate the catchment or outfall please prove your model files as per the link provided by Scott.

    Hope this helps.
