zero initial flow

Hello,

For the attached model, When I run "Initial Conditions", The values of "Flow Supplied" and "Flow Demanded" are zero.  And then I calculated the model in Hammer,  there will be error message:   "Pump Efficiency must be betweeen 0% and 100% inclusive." Transient Engine.   So is the problem of  "Initial Conditions" caused the error message?  And how can we fix the model to remove the error and let the Transient calculation can be finished? Could you help to review this model and help to address the problem?

Thanks a lot1616.pump efficiency.zip

  • Hello Jinlong,

This issue is likely occurring because the pumps have no flow in the initial conditions. This appears to be because of the setting at FCV-6. The FCV is active, but with an initial flow setting of zero. This means that the flow through the valve will be zero, which is also impacting the flow from the pumps. I set the Status (Initial) for FCV-6 to "Inactive" and that seemed to help with the issue. If there should be a flow reduction through the FCV, be sure to set an appropriate value here instead of zero.

This link has further details on the error.
