Importing Excel data into WaterCAD/SewerCAD

Is it possible to copy & paste data from an Excel spreadsheet into a flex table in WaterCAD/SewerCAD?

Parents
  • Hello Robert,

    Yes it is possible to copy and paste data from Excel spread-sheets into a Flex Table for an element. However, you should ensure that the columns you are pasting has the appropriate number of rows (or cells for that matter) so that the data is pasted appropriately. If not you will end up with extra values getting pasted which can lead to confusion and errors.

    You can also try importing Excel spreadsheets via ModelBuilder to directly assign values to your elements;

    Here is a relevant article to guide you on that;

    Hope this helps.

  • I agree that ModelBuilder is generally the best tool for "pasting" data from Excel, as it maps by unique identifier.

    If you have a case where you need to manually copy or paste in data in a table (either a flextable or somewhere else), and you're using the CONNECT Edition, make note that you must right click the column header and choose "select column", then use the copy/paste buttons at the top.
