Stormcad Model Builder: How to import Taps Referenced Link?

I'm importing a large set of network data into stormcad from shp files. The shape files contain full information of Catch Basins, Taps, Outflows, Conduits, Laterals, Catchments including connectivity information (from node, to node, catchments' outfows, taps' outlows). I cannot find the field to use for importing tap's Referenced Link and I cannot paste any data in the Flex Table Referenced Link column either.

  • Hello Scott

    Thank you for your replies

    I don't think Load Builder is available in StormCAD (I have 10.02.00.55 installed). I couldn't find "Assign Taps to Links" tool on the ribbon but when I used Ribbon Search it came up and worked just fine. I still don't understand which Tap field to use in Model Builder when Tap shp file includes Referenced Link information.

  • Hello,

    The LoadBuilder Tool is used to assign sanitary loads to manholes. Since StormCAD is only used for storm-water conveyance the LoadBuilder tool is not provided. However you can find the same in SewerGEMS under the Tools Tab.

    As per Scott's response to "Assign Taps to Links", you can find this under the Tools Tab >Tools > More > Assign Taps to Links.

    This will assign the taps to the nearest links.

    I still don't understand which Tap field to use in Model Builder when Tap shp file includes Referenced Link information

    When taps are laid out in the network and assigned to a particular link the "Referenced Link" property gets populated with the label of the referenced link (conduit).

    See the below snapshot of the tap properties;

    In ModelBuilder you have to assign this property so the "Referenced Pipe" field.

    Hope this helps.
