We are using WaterCAD V8i SELECTSeries6 and I have a model that is in a newer format - can this be saved down our version? From my understanding, our client does not have the software available to do this is there a way to do this on our end? Thanks!
Hello Erin,
When the model is saved in higher version then it cannot opened directly in the lower version, for that purpose it has to be saved in other formats from the higher version of WaterCAD. Such as shapefiles or EPANET file format. So for doing this you need a higher version.
You can download the latest version of WaterCAD 10.02.00.43 from the link mentioned below and then export the model in shapefile or EPANET file format.

Or you can send us the model files saved in higher version and we can save it in other format which you can then open in WaterCAD SS6.

If you could save it to our compatible format that would be amazing - I looked at they model and it seems they used Version 10.1.0.72 (Product Created="6") and we are using Product Created="8" Version 8.11.6.58 so will that work? If so how can I get your files? Thank you so much!
Yes we can export the model from Version 10.1.0.72 as shapefiles and EPANET files, which you can then import in Version 8.11.6.58.

Unless the latest version of WaterCAD is stand alone I need to remain on our current version for sharing purposes also I am not an administrator. If you could save down the model into a version which is compatible with ours that would be great! I will upload the files that we have for you now. Thanks and let me know if I miss anything!

I have exported model into EPANET file format and shapefiles which you can import the WaterCAD SS6 version. However there are limitaitions with this method, please go though below mentioned wiki for details.
