What is the best way to troubleshoot when receiving an error message about my database for not being recognized?
Janice Shon,
Your issue is the subject of this Wiki article - Unable to open .SWR or .STM file or "Database format not recognized or read-only"
The error is covered in Option #2 in this article and instructions can be found to correct it in the second paragraph of the Solution which begins "For the error..."
Please try the steps listed in the article and post back if you still have problems opening the file.
Thank-you,
Larry
Thank you Larry for your suggestion. I have tried that solution option, but it still didn't open my file. Do you think I'll have to start a new model?
Hello Janice,
Can you please upload the model files for our review? Please upload all the files in that folder, using link mentioned below.
Sharing model files
I believe it will give you the same error if you open the model in a new file.

Hi Sushma,
I just remade the model and it seems to be working. I'm not sure if the first model was corrupt, but the second one hasn't caused any trouble.
Thank you,
Janice

Thank-you for letting us know that a new model fixed the issue. I didn't want to jump into the middle of your correspondence with Sushma. Please let us know if you encounter this issue again and we'll try to determine the cause.
Thanks again,
Hi Sushma, It has been some time ago, but I am running into some problems again with this file. Would you be able to help me figure out if it's a user error issue (which is very possible as this is my first time using StormCAD for a project)? When I was inputting data before I was able to retrieve the HGL and EGL lines in the profiles, but when I modified some things it no longer shows up at all.
Yes sure, can you please upload model files for our review?
