How do I show that I am using Fire Flow plus Peak Demand in my WaterCAD calculations in a report for DEQ?

These municipalities are now asking to show peak demand plus fire flow calculations meeting the 20 psi, but I can't figure out how to show it on paper.  I can print out the unit demands but cannot print the scenario page which shows peak demand.  What does anyone else do?

  • Hello Ron,

When you run an automated fire flow analysis, it will use a steady state run as the basis for this, including any demands that are already present. Basically, the fire flow demand will be added to the demand in the model.

The Fire Flow Node Table in the FlexTables manager should show this for individual fire flow nodes. There is a column in this table called "Flow (Total Available)". This will be the total available flow for both your peak demand and the fire flow. You can generate a report from this table, just like you can other FlexTables. If you are using the CONNECT Edition version of WaterCAD, you can also include the Fire Flow Node table in a custom report.

    Regards,
