Trying to learn FLOOD for a demo. Using the tutorial on the LEARNserver. get to page 19 and stuck.

Hi.  I'm trying to come up the learning curve on FLOOD.   tried the tutorial on the LEARN server which is good for a first learner.  but, get to page 19 and stuck.  Can't get any points to display, so SELECT button doesn't work of course.  there must be a step missing which I haven't been able to find.

Can anyone help?

  • Hello Tom,

I believe you are using this tool edit grid data to assign manning's coefficient value to surface points. I have recorded a short video of the procedure here, can you please if you are not able to reproduce the same? As you mentioned SELECT button doesn't work, please note that once you click on press button to start then come into drawing area an arrow with question mark will appear then you are supposed to select the area.

Please note that as per your screenshot, you would need to zoom out a little to be able to select the area.

If you are having trouble following this, then can you please upload model files for our testing?

    Sharing model files

  • Hi Sushma,  thanks very much for your quick response.  the video did it.  Might edit the tutorial to include the step of zooming out, then drawing window around the area and clicking.  I'm off and running on the rest of the  tutorial.  thanks again.  Tom

  • Hi Sushma,

That fixed my problem on page 19.

Now advanced to page 21.  Step 16, once again, no points appear in the list when magnifier clicked (waited 5 min)

Any thoughts on that one?    (sorry to be such a pest)

    Regards,

    Tom

  • Sorry.  The table finally filled out!    Took about 10 minutes.  Must be a whole lot of calculations going on.
