Divert sewer pipe without manhole

ref: https://communities.bentley.com/products/hydraulics___hydrology/f/haestad-hydraulics-and-hydrology-forum/180773/tuberias-a-presion-y-gravedad-simultaneamente

Hello

I would like to know how to divert a sewer pipe without the need to insert a manhole,

the design I want to make is an emitter that starts in a wastewater treatment plant and ends in a river.

  • Hello Frank,

Since this appears to be a new, separate question, I have split your post to a new thread.

When you say that you want to divert a sewer pipe, do you mean that you want model a flow split? If so, you will need to have a node to connect to the two separate outgoing pipes. If there is no vertical structure at the flow split, you can use the transition element. The transition has a top and bottom elevation, and is useful for cases where there is a junction without a structure. You can see more information and illustrations in this article from our Wiki: Pressure Junction vs Transition vs Manhole

If you are using the Implicit or Explicit solver in SewerGEMS or CivilStorm, the flow split will be calculated automatically based on the physical properties of the outgoing pipes and the hydraulic conditions. If you are using the GVF-Convex (SewerCAD) or GVF-Rational (StormCAD) solver, you will need to define the diversion rating table.

If this does not help, please explain further what you are trying to do (provide illustrations/diagrams if possible).

  • Thank you very much, it served me for my model.
