Hello Everyone,
I have a couple of WaterGEMS network files created in select series verison 6. Can I open these using EPANET?
Thanks,
Dina Zaman
Hello Zaman,
Using WaterGEMS you can export the model in EPANET format (File>Export) and then open that in EPANET.

Thanks Sushma. I could easily convert the files. Just wanted to know, if there will be any data loss in the network structure, during this conversion.
There will not be data loss but there are some functionalities/tools in WaterGEMS which will not be available in EPANET as explained by Dr. Walski. E.g. if you have modeled VSP- variable speed pump element in WaterGEMS, then that element type is not available in EPANET.
Here are the limitations of exporting / importing to EPANET.
What are the limitations of importing/exporting EPANET files?
If all you want to do is export the network (and possibly modeling results), we have a tool called WaterObjects where you can export data without losing information as you would with EPANET. For more information go to this page on Communities.
