Is the HP Tank with a bladder gas preset pressure model input a gauge pressure or an absolute pressure? I realize there are many posts on this and see the conversion between the two, but am not clear on what unit the model requires.
Just want to confirm model input units
Hello Venessa,
For hydropneumatic tank gas pressure input is indeed absolute pressure since gas law works on absolute pressure, which is confirmed in following forum post as well.
Can you please elaborate on point about not clear about units of pressure input? Pressure (Gas-Preset) unit should be as per your available data, you can refer the sample model on hydropneumatic tank included in sample models of Hammer, located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\HAMMER\Samples.
Absolute or gauge pressure in hydropneumatic tank results?
Here is modeling reference on hydropneumatic tanks for your reference.

Thank you Sushma, this is clear for me. I saw both articles but just wanted to confirm the inputs the model wanted.
thank you,
Venessa
I apologize for confusing you, Pressure (Gas-Preset) i.e. precharge pressure is actually gauge pressure and not absolute pressure. The forum thread I referenced actually talks about results fields, whereas you are referring to the precharge pressure input.
Please see the wiki I provided to you about Modeling reference to hydropneumatic tank.
In this wiki, please see the section " With a Bladder ", there is example which adds atmospheric pressure to gauge pressure equal to preset pressure when demonstrating the gas law equation:
I am adding this clarification to the above mentioned wiki.
