Hello,
I am handling pipe network with multiple outlets which requires residual head.
However these pipe networks directly connected to 4 pumps (3w+1s).
In this case i have found starting point (i.e static head) of system resistance curve ( (Residual head+ highest elevation of outlets) - pump suction level) .
After this i can not able to do calculation with haizen williams formula similar to single pipe flow.
Because i need confirm that, pump curve will not go out site run out flow.
Any suggestion .
Hello Satishkumarbn,
If you are using WaterGEMS, there are tools available to analyze the system head curve for a single pump or a pump station, so that you do not have to manually calculate it (I assume this is what you meant by "do calculation with Hazen-Williams formula similar to single pipe flow"). You can find more information on this including some tips, in the following articles from our Wiki: Understanding System Head Curves in WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD
Note that if you have multiple pumps in a station and you're looking at a system head curve for one of them, you may need to turn off the other pumps to prevent their flow from influencing the system head curve for the pump in question. Also for a closed system with only demands downstream the flow cannot vary as it will be equal to the sum of the downstream demands, unless using pressure-dependent demands. See more here: System head curves with no downstream storage
If this does not help, please explain in more detail what you are trying to do, and what problem you are encountering. Include screenshots if needed.
