How to add Ground water level in tanks using Civilstorm

Hi everyone

Just a question.

I have a civilstorm network with six tanks. The boundary condition type of the outfall upstream of the tank is set to as "Boundary element".

However in our project, the ground water level seems high. Therefore I think I need to add the ground water data in the model.

Is there a way to add ground water level in the six tanks? or in the six outfalls?

The model is analysed using SCS method; Explicit numerical solver.

Thanks!

  • Hello Jan,

You can model these storage tanks as pond elements in CivilStorm., where you can specify elevation - area or elevation - volume curve.

The pond outflow would be controlled by a pond outlet structure, which is a different node type and it depends upon tank purpose like detention or retention. You'd connect a conduit or channel downstream of that.

Using PondMaker - to design ponds
