Hello,
I am getting a user notification "Conduit is operating under pressure", but this notification is for one of the channels in my model. What does this signify? just to be sure i did check the profile and found that the HGL is below the top of the embankment. below are some screen shots for your convenience.
thanks
KP
Hello Kanwarpreet,
I don't see the channels as operating under pressure as you pointed out that the HGL is below to top of he embankment. However, there is a conduit towards the end of this profile (CO-9) which seems to be under pressure due to the hydraulic jump seen towards the end. Can you check the properties of CO-9 and see if this message is seen for that conduit? In conduit properties check for "Calculation Messages" under Results. In the collection see if this message shows up.
See the article below for reference;
Notifications about conduits operating under pressure or being in the Preissmann slot
If you are using a channel with varying cross sections see the "Calculation Messages" for the channel and compare the HGL and EGL values with the top of the channel. There might be some violations there.
Let me know if this helps.

Yashodhan,
I am not seeing channel under pressure either, based on location of HGL and top of embankment; hence my question, why are we getting a user notification for the channel CH-29 saying that the “Conduit is under pressure”? See attached two screen shots showing the user notifications.
Per you suggestion, I checked the EGL and even that is below the top of the embankment for the channel CH-29.
In case the screen shots and my explanation is not describing the situation in a comprehensive manner, I am ready to share my model with you, albeit securely. I was not able to access the secured site using the link from previous forum questions. I am wondering if some activation needs to happen at your end for me to be able to upload the files.
Looking forward to your reply.

fyi, just uploaded the files.
Larry Abla,
I named it "Channel under pressure issue.7z". I did not keep a screen shot of my upload from the morning, but I uploaded it again and below is a screen shot of my recent upload.
I found it. I tried to retrieve my post but I guess it had already sent you an email.
I'm sorry about that.
I'm also looking at your model. Which product (StormCAD?) and exact (10.02.03.03?) version are you using?
Thanks,
Larry
no worries.
i am using CivilStorm (with Active Numerical Solver as GVF) and the version is 10.02.03.03
I checked this in some sample models but I am not able to reproduce the notification in my case. I get the "one or more conduits are pressurized" notification for channels as well as conduits. However, in all the cases the channels were also surcharged or the water level was above the channel top level at some point in the channel (upstream or downstream). For your case this is not happening as the water level is always below the channel top.
