Running EPS fire flow in WaterCad?

Question

We are attempting to run a 3 hour fire flow simulation in Watercad and there doesn't appear to be a tool for that function. A search has found a WaterGems solution but the client does not have WaterGems. The model needs to be returned to them in WaterCad with all scenarios functional.

 The best option to model this is to add a demand at a node and use a pattern to model when the fire will happen. This link has details on how to do that: Running a fire flow analysis in EPS (Extended Period Simulation) . 
 There is an option to use an external tool to do this, depending on what version of WaterCAD you have. This link includes information on this and the download file. This download file will work with WaterGEMS or WaterCAD, but will depend on the version of the product you are using.

Just to clarify - you are correct that the "EPS fire" tool mentioned in this article will only work for WaterGEMS. I agree with Scott's answer about using patterns as a first step - the EPS fire tool was intended for a very specific application.
