Soak Away Chamber

Question

Hi 
 Good day, just to ask a question, how do I model Soak away Manhole/Chamber with infiltration on the bottom of the chamber and the Stormwater inlet is connected to it, see drawing below.

Hello Gregorio, 
 Which product are you using? From the sectional drawing you shared I can see that this manhole is designed to be an infiltration chamber where there is supposed to be seepage from the bottom. 
 Since i don't see any outlet from this manhole it seems to be an end point in the network or a storage chamber. This you can model by using the pond element with seepage from bottom by defining the Pond Seepage Method in pond properties. See the below article for details on how to model this;

Hello Gregorio, 
 Can you simplify the network in maybe a schematic. Its difficult to make out the exact entities (manhole and others) in your network in C3D. 
 If you can simplify, does the manhole have any incoming flow from somewhere? From your explanation I could understand that the manhole has some sort of overflow which is going to a ditch or swale. But how is the flow controlled going "to the existing manhole"? It also seems that the ditch is having seepage (infiltration) to the sub soil. 
 Is my understanding correct?

Hello Gregorio, 
 As I suggested in my first response the way to achieve this would be to model an underground storage chamber with seepage at the bottom. 
 This can be done using the pond element to specify the storage chamber characteristics with a seepage method specified (viz. average, constant) to account for the seepage at the bottom of the storage chamber.
