In Bentley SewerGEMS, I could not find globe edit for the land use in the flex table, and can not add Percent of Catchment to the flex table. I would like to assign the land use to the catchments and I have around 3,700 catchments, is there a way; or I have to do it manually (one by one)?
Also for the initial Buildup.

Mohamad
Hi Mohamad,
See page 239 of the SWMM manual regarding initial buildup. You would set it as zero if you want to assume no initial pollutant buildup at the start of the simulation. If you want to assume there is some pollutant buildup at the start of the simulation, you would populate the collection. I have added a note about this to the following article from our Wiki: Prediction of quality characteristics of sewers

Hi Sushma,
Yes; the initial buildup collection will help you in predicting water quality, and my question here how is that? what is the difference if I consider an initial buildup collection rather than not considering that (keep it 0)?
would you please elaborate more?
Thank you - Mohamad
Hello Mohamad,
In initial buildup collection lets you specify initial quantities of pollutants per unit of land use over the catchment which will help you in predicting water quality.
We have videos on our YouTube channel, that should help you in modeling water quality in sewer and how to see the results.
The following link has information on modeling water quality in SewerGEMS: Prediction of quality characteristics of sewers. There is information in Help documentation as well.

Hello Scott,
Thank you - work well.
One more question; regarding initial Build up collection,
when that field can be used?
what is the impact that to the water quality; i.e when filling that what does change to the model rather than keep it 0?
how can I get the values, is there any reference?
And How can we review the water quality after Run the model? please guide me on what information should be checked and how?
Thank you,
If you can get the Land Use data into a spreadsheet, you can use ModelBuilder to import the collection data into the catchments. This link has information on doing this: Importing Land Use data into SewerGEMS using ModelBuilder.
