Hi. I'm having a little trouble exporting my model to dxf format. My client does not have WaterCAD but does have Civil 3D. I'm trying to create a dxf drawing of the element map that he can open in Civil 3D so he can see the pipes and junctions and their labels. When I export to dxf I get the following AutoCAD message: Warning: "An error occurred during save. We recommend that you run RECOVER on the drawings." I then try and recover the dxf with my Civil 3D 2018 application but after the recover nothing shows in the drawing. Any hep would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hello Walter,
Based on your description, I suspect you might be exporting the DXF from the AutoCAD integrated platform, and may not be selecting elements.
You could simply do a Save-as and change the format to DXF. Or, open the model in the Standalone platform (the shortcut that just says "WaterCAD"), then go to File > Export > DXF (see related article here). If you have other linework that the client needs to see, you could set up another AutoCAD drawing (not connected to WaterCAD) and insert the exported DXF into that, or provide the client with a CAD file that has the other line work to reference.

Hi Jesse. I opened up standalone and did an export to DXF and it worked great! Thanks again for your help!
