BENTLY - SEWERGEMS CONNECT EDITION UPDATE 1

Ques-1 : If i have taken from Center line of the road network in Autocad dxf file and Imported in Sewergems software using Model Builder.                         Now, The Network of the centre line pipe, lots of bend came in the network. One by one we can select the pipe and remove the                           Bends. But, It is possible to select the overall pipe and remove the bend?.

Ques - 2 :  Without draw the network of the pipe line (every 30m Inetrvals). It is possible to make the Network every 30 m intervals using any                        methods in Sewergems or ArcGIS or AutoCAD?.
                         Note : i have faced this problems in the Short term Period of the Project.

Ques - 3 : I have 1000 reverse nodes. I cant select each one by one pipe and Change the reverse node means, it will take more time. It is                           possible to select 1000 pipes and rectify the Reverse Node any methods.?

Ques - 4 : I have finished my design. Now, i have to taken the Hydraulic Statement. But, In this Hydrulic Statement Uniform slope will not come.                   It is possible to make the Uniform Slope?.
                Ex: Conduit 1 to 5 - Diameter - 150mm and Slope is 100, Next Conduit 6 to 10 - Diameter - 150 and Slope is 80, Next Conduit - 11 to                 15- Dia - 150 and Slope is 100. Inbetween conduit of the slope is 80. It is Possible to make uniform same slope will come?.
  • Hello,

    1. Do you mean that DXF file is not imported as it is in the drawing using Modelbuilder? Did you have it as a straight line in drawing and it came as a curved line? Please elaborate.
      1. Importing an AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD file using ModelBuilder
      2. You can just right click on the pipe >bend>remove all bends.
    2. You can have the manholes at every 30 m interval, using tool called element property inferencing, more details on how to use it are mentioned below.
      1. Splitting a pipe into multiple pipes with the same length
    3. To reverse the pipe nodes in bulk, there is a workaround Modelbuilder and excel files, which will help you in reversing nodes in bulk. Follow the steps mentioned here.
      1. Reversing orientation of Pipes and Conduits in Bulk
    4. You can define the slope like e.g. pipes of diameters 150 to 250 will have same slope using Table slope constraint type in design constraints. This will give you same slope of pipes with equal diameter. Order of automated design priorities for StormCAD (GVF-Rational) and SewerCAD (GVF-Convex)

  • Hai Sushma,

    Thanks for your Kind reply.

    Question 1;

    We have taken from the Road Centreline Dxf file and Using Model builder to imported in Sewergems. After that u check it in sewerpipe, some of the pipes Bend will come. As your answer is correct. If we selected one pipe and remove all bends in ONE PIPE only. This process is suitable for 10 to 100 pipes. IF i had 10000 pipes means?.I am asking, like this method we cannot select all the Pipes and Click Remove all Bends. It is POSSIBLE OR NOT?. If not possible, please suggest alternate methods.

    Question 2;

    I will Check it. If any doubt, i will ask you.

    Question 3 and 4

    No issue. Understood.

    Thanks,

    Guru

    At this time the "remove all bends" is done one pipe at a time. See also here. If you do not want the bends to be included, you could manipulate the source data in AutoCAD (or MicroStation) and re-import with ModelBuilder to update the geometry in bulk.
