Dear Bentley team,
We do not have opening time & closing time of Non return valve to model the NRV in Hammer, but we have Reverse velocity & Deceleration curves, could we use this data for modelling NRV in Hammer instead of opening /closing time, if yes, please guide us, as we could not find any input option in Hammer to give theses curves as a input. NRV Curve are attached herewith for your reference.
Kindly help us.

Hello Jayakanthan,
Please check the data you received from NRV manufacturer, look for flow velocity delta which can be used in Joukowsky's Equation, dH = dV . a / g . The provided curves are insufficient at the moment to be used in Hammer.
Currently there is no way to directly input for reverse velocity vs. deceleration curves in Hammer with enhancement in place for that. Please read more details about it below mentioned wiki.
Reverse Velocity vs. Deceleration curves for a check valve
If possible please look for opening and closing time of NRV, that would make things easier.

Dear Bentley Team,
Thank you for your quick reply.
For first point : with help of any other curves can we simulate NRV in Hammer
For second point: Ok
We requested vendor to provide opening & closing time, vendor shared these graphs.

Jayakanthan, the article that Sushma mentioned has information to help you. You can use trial-and-error to adjust the open and closure time delay properties of the check valve node element until the results match the curves from the manufacturer. A conservative assumption could also be considered, along with a sensitivity analysis to determine if the delay timing is significant to the transient results.

Thank you for your reply.
What we can do now is we can calculate Deceleration value from Hammer & will match with vendor curves (Deceleration value) with trial and error method.
This is what we can do if opening/closing time are not available, please inform me if my understanding is wrong.
Yes, that is the current workflow in HAMMER for this situation.
Ok, we will try this option.
