Profile View and Scaling

I have been generating profiles in SewerGEMS, and I noticed that I can change the profile scale in the axis options when looking at the profile; however, when I do this, nothing visible changes on the screen. When I print the profile, will it be at the scale I inputted in? Also, when I try to print a profile or even export it to a DXF file, the error, "H&H-SewerGEMS stopped working", appears and it seems as if this will happen every time I open the file, and even after I try compacting the database. What would I have to do in order to avoid this error?
  • Hello Craig,

Could you please try following to see if that helps with the error?

    • Copy only .sqlite & .stsw.sqlite files to a new folder and open model from new location.
    • File>Import>SewerGEMS Database into a new file.

Also send us the error log file, which can be located at the bottom of "H&H-SewerGEMS stopped working". At the end of this error message window click on more details, which will open the error log file.

About scale of the profile, do you mean when you change the scale at axis options, nothing changes ? Is it model specific?

To use the scale you need to use scaled option while printing, see more details below.

How to change the scale of the plan view printout

Craig, I assume you are referring to the "standard" profiles (not the Engineering style profiles) and that you are changing the scale under Chart Settings > Axis Options. If so, this does indeed apply to the plot scale, in the same way that the scale option found under File > Options > Drawing only impacts the plan view print-out as described in the article Sushma mentioned. So, you should indeed see a change in the print preview generated from the profile.

Regarding the crash when trying to print or export to DXF, I was not able to reproduce this in a sample file in the latest version of SewerGEMS (10.03.01.08). In addition to the suggestions mentioned by Sushma, please try this in a sample file (found in the "Samples" folder within the SewerGEMS installation folder) and check your version number (File > Help > About) and consider upgrading if you're using an older version.
