Also whats best way i can prepare database for my whole 180.9km ready for model builder importing

  • Hello Vasco,

    If you have survey data you need a GIS application like ArcGIS or QGIS to bring in the data and develop the shapefiles for the various elements. This forum is for the OpenFlows applications for water, wastewater and stormwater utilities modeling which leverage such GIS data to quickly build and load hydraulic models using the ModelBuilder and LoadBuilder tools.

    The GIS data required for a modeler using our OpenFlows products is usually prepared by a GIS specialist who can develop the data using survey data and share with you the necessary shapefiles for pipes, junctions, tanks etc. I am sharing an article for readying the GIS data for import which can help you once you build the GIS dataset. See the below link for details;

    Preparing GIS data for use in the hydraulics and hydrology products

    Another option would be to work in an integrated platform like WaterGEMS or SewerGEMS + ArcGIS. If you have subscription for integration with ArcGIS then you can perform the GIS operations in the integrated platform as well as the hydraulic modeling offered by our products. When installing WaterGEMS, if you have the compatible version of ArcGIS already installed on your machine and you have the appropriate license for integration you would see a shortcut for WaterGEMS for ArcGIS which opens WaterGEMS in the ArcGIS environment. See the below article if you are facing issues in integration;

    Hope this helps.
