Blank Flushing field report

After computing the flushing event, I am able to see the result from the summary table. But the field report appears to be a blank 1-page report.

  • Hello Michael,

I tested this in a sample model and the flushing field report appears to have information in it. There was a known issue with an older version of WaterGEMS and WaterCAD where a blank page was reported in a Bing Maps background was applied. See this link for information on this. If this is what you are seeing, the best solution would be to upgrade to the latest version of WaterGEMS/WaterCAD.

  • Hi Scott,

I am currently using the 10.03.01.08 version and the issue remains the same when I have the bing map turned off. And you are right when I used the older model, the report can be generated properly. But not with this updated model. The field report only contains one blank page even i have multiple steps in there.

    Thank you !

  • Good day Scott,

I just uploaded the file and I am looking to generate the flushing study field report for Pink 6 or 7 or 8. Those three can be computed but fail to generate the report. They are all UDF.

    Thank you !

  • Hello Michael,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I see you also created a service request for this. I will respond in the forum in case the conversation can help other users.

The issue may be related to an error when computing the representative scenario. When you compute the flushing run for one of the items (Pink 8, for instances), there is a user notification that says "Cannot solve network hydraulic equations." This occurs if you compute the representative scenario as well. This will need to be resolved before you will have valid results. This link has information that can be used to try to fix the issue.

I did try adjusting some of the calculation options mentioned in the link, but the issue still occurs. There may be a setup issue in the model that would need to be fixed. Since you will have a much better chance of spotting issues, I would recommend reviewing the model. If there are similar scenarios that are computing, you could use the Scenario Comparison tool to help identify elements with possible issues. For instance, if Scenario B has the error message, but Scenario A does not, Scenario Comparison can tell you what is different between the two. Then you would not have to check the entire model for an issue and be able to focus on a certain area.

If you still run into issues, let us know. If you made chances to the model during the review, please send an updated copy of the model.

    Regards,

    Scott

  • Hi Scott,

I just ran Pink 8 on my end and I didn't receive the user notification that says "Cannot solve network hydraulic equations." The representative scenario might need to be set at Summer operation in order to run properly. If you don't mind I will send you the model agin.

    Best

  • Hello Michael,

I see the same issue. Try validating the model for scenario "Summer Operations (15 MGD). There are a number of validation messages related to customer meters and how the flow is distributed. This is occurring when the customer meter is set to a pipe that has an FCV at one end. Try applying the customer meter demand to a node instead of using a tap on the pipe.

If that doesn't help, try moving the .wtg and .wtg.sqlite files to a new folder and recomputing the model.

    Regards,

    Scott

  • Hello Michael,

I was able to reproduce the issue. We will be looking into this.

    Regards,

    Scott
