Hello again!
Another question which has come up trying to figure out my design. Is there a way to change the target flows from pre-developed rates, to something that is user defined? For instance, if I am trying to determine flow contributions from 2 seperate areas (one of which contributes flows ONLY above the 5 year storm, and another area which contributes flows for the 2-year up to the 100-year storms), is there a way I can manually add these flow contributions and set these as the new targets?
Thanks again!
Jeff
Hello Jeff,
I'm not sure I completely understand what you are trying to accomplish, but if you're using the Pondmaker feature, you can use custom target peaks by clicking the Pondmaker button in the Compute network dialog. Choose "Predevelopment" as the update type and "user defined target flows" as the method by which to update target flows. You can then specify a custom target flow for each return event.

Jesse,
Thanks for the reply! I did not know that feature was there!
You're right, I re-read my post, and I don't think I explained myself properly!
If I have two seperate areas (Post-D) contributing flow to an outlet (wetland, in this case). However, one area is contributing flows ONLY above a 5-year storm, while the other is contributing flows from 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 year storms. My solution to this was to create seperate Post D model runs for each area, where one area I will only take the peak flows from the 5 year storm, and the other I will take the peaks from full range of storms. Maybe this is clearer:
Area 1 (only contributing sewer flows)
2yr=0.716, 5yr=0.941, 10yr=1.089, 25yr=1.274, 50 yr=1.409, 100yr=1.542
Area 2 (contributing ALL flows)
2yr=0.053, 5yr=0.1275, 10yr=0.1833, 25yr=0.2601, 50 yr=0.3197, 100yr=0.3815
Total flows
2yr=0.053, 5yr=1.0685 (0.941+0.1275), 10yr=1.1243 (0.941+0.1833), 25yr=1.2011 (0.941+0.2601), etc....
Then, I would like to design my pond based on THESE post-D flows. Is there a way to enter in user defined post-D flows and design the pond based on these?
Hope this is clearer, and thanks for your help!
I assume the situation you're describing is the same as the one in your other forum thread.
There is no way to enter user defined postdeveloped flows in Pondmaker (only predeveloped). Postdeveloped conditions must be computed from model elements, so that the volume is accountef for. The Pondmaker feature is better suited for simpler pond design situations so I feel that you probably should not be using it for this model. Instead, you should actually lay out and compute the network, using subareas, ponds, outlet structures, etc. You may need to use a few trials to get it right.
However, I'm still a bit unclear on some of the items you described, so I may be misinterpretting still. So, I feel at this point you should consider continuing the discussion with technical support . If you'd like to do this, please include any diagrams or extra explanation of what you'd like Pondpack to do.
