Query EPS Results for Pressures at Hydrants and Velocities in Pipes

I have a model of a system where I created a scenario where I completely reconfigure the system with more centralized treatment then currently.   I go from 31 points of entry for the source water down to 12 points of entry.  I have a nice 72 hr EPS running and for the most part everything looks good (e.g, tanks are filling and emptying properly).   However, I do want to check how pressures and velocities might have changed in the system.   First, I would like to compare the range of pressures at 1850 hydrants in the two different scenarios over 72 hours.   Second, I would like to compare pipe velocities in a similar manner (looking for any high velocities that may have been created.   Any query tools to perform this would be helpful.  Thanks

  • You're quite welcome. One of my colleagues also suggested another option that may help you compare the differences in results between scenarios.

First, create user data extensions to store the result values (like min/max pressure, or a UDX that stores the difference) for the second scenario. Then, go to one of the scenarios in question and use flextables to copy and paste the calculated result field to the new user data extension. Create another UDX, choosing the "formula" type and calculate the difference between the result field in question and the reference UDX field. Then, you can switch to the other scenario you want to compare to and color code or annotate on the new formula-derived user data extension.

I have added this information to the following Wiki article: Comparing results between scenarios
