Can we change the level of junction of the model in water gems??

If we are validating a model in water gems and want to insert level of the junction directly can it be possible in water gems

  • Hello Shubham,

    If we are validating a model in water gems and want to insert level of the junction directly can it be possible in water gems

    Junctions have a property titled "Elevation" in which you can enter the elevation at that point. Usually it is the ground elevation at that point but technically it should be the elevation where you are measuring pressure. If it is different than your ground elevation, you can enter your own value. Simply double-click the junction and the properties would show up. Here locate the property "Elevation" and enter the desired value.

    If you are new to using WaterGEMS, I am sharing some learning resources which can help you understand the product better. See the below article for details;

    Learning Resource Guide for new users of Bentley WaterGEMS and WaterCAD

    You can also go through the Quick Start Lessons and practise a few problems to understand how the software works.

    Hope this helps.

  • As a follow up to Yahodhan's post, Watergems default junction elevations are 0.00.  This can lead to massive overestimation of pressures!  If the system you are modeling is at an average elevation of, say, 400 m, you should adjust junction elevations appropriately.

    To avoid this I suggest using HGL instead of pressure.
