ModelBuilder Imports with Data Manipulation

Are you talking about the "Elevation (Invert in 1)" field? If so, these are actually calculated fields generated by SewerCAD, so you will not be able to import data from the GIS file into these fields. For manholes, you would only enter one invert elevation, which typically is the bottom of the structure. 

The "Elevation (Invert in 1)" field (and the other four similar fields) are related to invert elevation of conduits connected to the manhole. Thank you for the quick response and yes I was talking about the "Elevation (Invert 1,2, 3, etc)" fields. The GIS data was created with manholes being one file and pipes being another. The pipe invert elevations are within the manhole file and don't seem to link to the specific pipes. Since these are automatically generated by SewerCAD, do you have any recommendations on how to bring in the invert elevations and have them correspond to the correct pipes or is that outside of SewerCAD's realm? I have a few thousand and doing them each manually would take a very long time.

Hannah, usually there is some creative way you can utilize features in ModelBuilder and others like user data extensions to accomplish what you need in interesting situations like this, but there would at least need to be some way to link the connecting pipe invert fields in your manhole shapefile to the respective conduits. Without this, I do not see any way to import the proper inverts to the conduit elements. 

It might be best to contact your GIS specialist to explain that SewerCAD requires the pipe inverts to be a property of the pipe (polyline) and ask if they are able to use GIS tools to produce new shapefiles that can be used with ModelBuilder. Perhaps they can perform a spatial join to accomplish this.

One other thought - check to see how often the pipe inverts are equal to the manhole bottom. If they are equal in almost all cases, you could import the manholes with the manhole invert mapped to the first invert column in the manhole shapefile, and set the imported conduits' "set invert to start" and "set invert to stop" to "true", so that they automatically pick up on the manhole invert. You could then identify cases where the pipe invert is above the manhole bottom and adjust as needed.
