Hi Bentley Users,
I am running a watergem model with several pumps. As the below picture shows, the model fails at 7am which is the time pump #4 turns on. I've got an error mentions reversed flow for #1 on the right side, but it was able to continue and got normal pump head as the picture shows.
And controls for pump #4 as below:
If I am delay to booster pump #4 for one hour, it will solve the reversed issue. So any idea on why the reverse flow happens, and how may I avoide that?
Thanks,
Meng
Hello Meng,
Are you seeing any other user notifications, like network unbalanced or disconnected demand nodes? If so, resolving these issues may be sufficient to help with the issue. The link above have information on resolving these issues.
If that doesn't help, we will likely need to see a copy of the model files to look into the issue.
Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott,
Yes it did have notifications for network unbalanced, I think the unbalanc is due to reverse flow for that specific pump since I didn't get another other errors. I'm gonna need a confidential link for the model.
This link can be used to send the file to us: Sharing Hydraulic Model Files on the OpenFlows Forum
Unless the pump is reversed, the reverse flow is likely caused by the network unbalanced message. When the network unbalanced message occurs, the results should not be trusted until this is resolved.
I figured it was due to a tank which is empty during that specific time and causing the unbalanced issue. Thanks for the help!
Best,
