Problem 1:I have a file in dxf format having 3d polyline and having Z as elevation for the respective node. How can I load that into model builder so that elevations might show. I have imported that and it is not showing.
Problem 2: If I import the said file into sewergems and elevations thing cant be resolved then if I have data in excel format also can that be integrated into that import somehow so that it shows in it
Like is there a way if I import lines and manholes layout from cad file and from excel data I can import elevations
I am attaching the files for reference
Hello Rahul,
If the DXF file contains point or contour elevation data, I would recommend using TRex to import the elevation data. TRex can use a few different source file types, including DXF files. This link has more information on using this: Using Terrain Extractor (TRex).
If you prefer to use ModelBuilder, the Excel method could work. You would need the element label from the model and the elevation data in the spreadsheet. The label is needed so that ModelBuilder knows what element to assign the elevation to. The label will need to be a unique value.
Regards,
Scott
This message implies that TRex didnt find supported elevations in the given dataaset for your model elements for the overlapping area.
Try uploading the dxf file in the background to see if it matches the model area.
Here are troubleshooting steps for the error you are getting,
Trex error: "The data source file must contain at least three unclipped points in order to create an elevation map"
