Good day I am modeling an aqueduct system and I have the following concern regarding a sector of deep wells with its pumping system: For the pumps, I only have the power of the bike, which is 10hp and 15hp, and I have the consented flow that is 12 l / s and 16l / s
But I am clear about how to add that information to my types of pumps, model annex for your review.Modelo con longitud equivalente.rar
Hello Jefry,
If the power data for the pump is what is available, then you can use that. I am not seeing any issues with the results. Was there something that you are concerned about?
Regards,
Scott
Hi ScottWell, I do not worry when using them, if not the way to apply it is favorable, I understand that it is preferable to model with the pump curve, but in this case it does not have that information because the system I am modeling has more than 30 years. In advance my English is regular so I use a translator, thank you very much Scot
So when you say "bike", the translation should have been "motor"?
Hello Tom Yeah, that's right Thanks Tom for your answer, it has been very helpful to learn more
If you know the pump's horsepower, you can use the "constant power" pump definition type to model an estimated pump curve. However if the pump is old, it may not be performing the same way.
If you know the pump's flow and want to simply force a certain inflow, you can consider using a negative demand, understanding the limitations. See more here: Modeling an inflow (negative demand) in WaterCAD or WaterGEMS
