Computing with SWMM Solver - Error 211: Invalid Number

Good morning,

I have encountered the error message below when computing my model using the SWMM solver in SewerGEMS.

"Error 211: Invalid number at line 5910 of [XSECT] section: D0034_OW RECT_OPEN 5 0 0 0 1"

It should be noted that I just had uninstalled and installed the latest version of SewerGEMS (10.03.04.53) along with the last patch set.

Can someone please throw me a hint on what could be causing this error? Is it the geometry of the conduit?

Thanks,

Samir

  • Samir Farra,

Here is a Wiki article that describes your issue.  Please follow the instructions in the article and see if it helps you solve the issue.
Please let us know your results.

    Thank-you,
    Larry

  • I've had come across that Wiki article and followed its instructions to make sure I am running the latest version of SewerGEMS and patch set. The element referenced in my error message is a conduit, and the article does not mention what data input we should check for conduits. Larry what would you recommend on this case?

  • Hello Samir,

Could you please upload model files for our review? Does the conduit have control structure?  Is there any other error for that conduit? Check calculation messages under results properties of conduit.

  • Additionally, while we wait for the model files - I see in the error message that it refers to the numbers in the cross sectional shape of a particular conduit. I would recommend taking a closer look at that conduit to see if there is something unusual about it's shape and parameters. Try adjusting them to see if it has an impact on the error. If that does not help, providing us with a copy of the model for further investigation would indeed be the next best step.
