Computing with SWMM Solver - Error 211: Invalid Number

Good morning,

I have encountered the error message below when computing my model using the SWMM solver in SewerGEMS.

"Error 211: Invalid number at line 5910 of [XSECT] section: D0034_OW RECT_OPEN 5 0 0 0 1"

It should be noted that I just had uninstalled and installed the latest version of SewerGEMS (10.03.04.53) along with the last patch set.

Can someone please throw me a hint on what could be causing this error? Is it the geometry of the conduit?

Thanks,

Samir

  • Hi Samir,

The error is caused by the overtopping weir setting for conduit D0034. Even though conduit has "is culvert" set to "false", it seems that at some point in the past it had been set to true and the "has overtopping weir?" setting was also set to True. Because the culvert setting is set to False, it should not be considering the weir setting, but the SWMM solver is attempting to export this with some bad weir settings, causing the issue in question.

I have reported this to our development team (reference # 686176) but a workaround in the meantime is to change the "is culvert" to "true", change the "has overtopping weir" to "false", then change the "is culvert" back to false. You should then be able to compute as it will no longer attempt to export the overtopping weir.

I have updated the related wiki article with this information.

  • Jesse,

Thank you for you input with this issue. Thanks to that workaround my model was able to complete its calculations and convey results.
