Stormcad for Microstation Connect Edition

Question

I am setting up a stormcad model. When I start drawing the catchment areas, stormcad locks up, stops operating and terminates the program. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, what was your solution?

Hi Rick, 
 Please try in a new, blank model to see if that makes a difference, and try one of the included sample models located in the "Samples" subfolder within the StormCAD installation folder. 
 Also, can you confirm that the standalone version of StormCAD (not integrated with MicroStation) is working correctly? 
 Is there a particular reason you need to use StormCAD in the MicroStation integrated mode, or is it possible you can use functionality in StormCAD Standalone as a workaround while we troubleshoot this issue? Thanks, Rick. I don't see the log files attached, though. 
 Please click the "see detailed local log" at the bottom of the "MicroStation has stopped working..." dialog and send us a copy, along with a copy of the StormCAD log file per the article mentioned in my previous reply. You can compress them both in a ZIP file and attach to your reply or upload using the ShareFile method. 
 Since I see "Access violation" showing in your screenshot - do you happen to know if you have administrative permissions on your computer? Are you able to open the "StormCAD for MicroStation" shortcut as Admin? (right click on the shortcut and choose "run as administrator".)

Thanks, Rick. That seems quite odd. Sorry for all the questions and replies but - 
 
 Does it make a difference if you re-integrate? Make sure StormCAD and MicroStation are closed, delete the "StormCAD for MicroStation CONNECT Edition" shortcut, then right click on the "Integrate StormCAD with..." and choose to Run as Administrator. Run the new "StormCAD for MicroStation" shortcut as Admin and see if the same issue still occurs. 
 Do you have the same issue if you lay out other elements like conduits, catchbasins and manholes? 
 In case the issue is somehow sensitive to your video hardware drivers, use the information in this article to ensure MicroStation is using your discrete graphics hardware (if present), then update your video hardware drivers, restart your computer and try again.

Thanks for checking. The OpenFlows development team is working with the Civil development team to troubleshoot this. It appears that the problem may be occurring in an area of the code related to dark theme vs. light theme. Please check if you are using dark mode and if so, try switching to light mode to see if that makes a difference. Rick, in the CONNECT Edition of MicroStation, the last used workspace is automatically loaded. Since StormCAD was used last, you will need to change it back to your normal MicroStation workspace via the dropdown at the top. Change to &ldquo;No Workspace" and it should also change the Workset to "No Workset" automatically. For now I have added a note about this to the following wiki article: At what point does OpenFlows product license usage start when integrated with MicroStation? 
 Our developers have taken an initial look at the video and minidump file and would like to see a more clear screen capture of this part of the video. Can you please provide an image file of this?

Hi Rick, unfortunately the screenshot appears stretched out, and also doesn't seem to have the window with the red icon and "abort / retry / cancel" which our developers are interested in. 
 However, we were finally able to reproduce the issue by turning on the "fill" option (see screenshot below). While we investigate further, please try turning this off, which should help avoid the crash.
