Hi,
All of a sudden I am getting this error (object reference not set to an instance of an object) when I try to open my model file in waterCAD (version 10.03.01.08). I do not get this error when I try to open the file in Hammer (10.03.05.05).
I have uploaded the files.
Thank you,
Nastassja
Nastassja, although model versions are compatible between 10.03.05.05 and 10.03.01.08, if the model was saved in the newer version, sometimes a change to the DWH file format can cause the older version to be unable to open the model. Try deleting the .DWH file and try again. See: Errors when opening model saved in a newer version

Jesse,
I tried deleting the .dwh at this did not solve the problem. I still got the object reference not set to an instance of an object error.
I am working on upgrading to the new WaterCAD/GEMS software as we speak but these things can take a couple of days to process through IT.
Hello Nastassja,
Can you share the model files (.wtg, .wtg.sqlite) with us to have a look? Have you tried importing the .wtg.sqlite into a new model in WaterCAD?

I see that you appear to have uploaded a model yesterday, and I can reproduce the error when opening it in the older version. The problem appears to be with the .WTG file, not the .DWH file. Most likely changes made to the structure of the WTG file in the newer version could not be interpreted by the older version. To resolve this, select "database files" from the "files of type" dropdown in the file open dialog and select the .WTG.SQLITE file instead of the the .WTG. You'll have to recreate things like color coding and annotations, but the model will open. The alternative is to upgrade your WaterCAD to match the HAMMER version.
I have added a note about this to the article.

Thank you, that is very helpful. I am working on getting the newer version installed so hopefully I will not have to fall back on the .wtg solution.
I appreciate your help,
