Valve modelling in Hammer

Hi ,

I am modelling a network in Hammer   which has some laid and some proposed SLUICE VALVE .

Do I need to add sluice valve or we can ignore it in the network in transient analysis?

If we include it in network then how will  we model it

  • Absar,

If the sluice valve is partially open and does not change positions during the transient simulation, you can either model it as a minor loss coefficient on a pipe, or use the TCV node element with a minor loss coefficient or discharge coefficient to represent the headloss through it (and set the transient operating rule to Fixed).

If you need to model this valve changing positions during the transient simulation (opening and/or closing), use the TCV element, choose the appropriate Valve Type and set the Operating rule. See more: Modeling Reference - Valve Closure
