Hammer results File doesn't contain any transient extended node.

Hi, I am new to Bentley Hammer. I am analyzing a Gravity pipeline where water will run from 1619 m elevation to 1400 m elevation in a hilly area with ups and downs. When I check " Transient Results Viewer" it gives a dialogue box.

"The hammer results file doesn't contain any transient extended node data. Extended node data is only available for certain pumps, turbines and hydropenumatic tanks".

Why am I seeing this notification? Does this mean this gravity pipeline does not face any pressure vapour surges, vapour volumes etc. or is it some error in my drawing of the  profile.

  • Hello Aqeel,

There isn't an error message. This notification simply means that elements where extended node data is generated, such as pumps, hydropneumatic tanks, and a few other elements, are not included in the model. You will still be able to view profile animations and time history data in the Transient Results Viewer.

More information on the extended node data tab in the Transient Results Viewer can be found here: How to view extended node transient results for HAMMER elements. As mentioned in the link, air valves, surge tanks, and valves have been included in the extended node data tab in the current version of HAMMER.

    Regards,

    Scott

  • Thanks Scott,

I understand now, however, I wanted to check whether my profile has any pressure surges vapour volumes, it's a 900mm, 62 km gravity line with ups and downs along the route. Please see the attached file and help me, if you can as I am using this software first time.  From Usman.wtg
