Hi, I am new to Bentley Hammer. I am analyzing a Gravity pipeline where water will run from 1619 m elevation to 1400 m elevation in a hilly area with ups and downs. When I check " Transient Results Viewer" it gives a dialogue box.
"The hammer results file doesn't contain any transient extended node data. Extended node data is only available for certain pumps, turbines and hydropenumatic tanks".
Why am I seeing this notification? Does this mean this gravity pipeline does not face any pressure vapour surges, vapour volumes etc. or is it some error in my drawing of the profile.
I also noticed that you appear to be using an old version of HAMMER: 08.11.05.61 (V8i SS5). This version is no longer supported. See the bottom of this article for details on all the great new updates in the latest CONNECT Edition, and this article for details on how to upgrade if your organization has a subscription.

Aqeel, there does not appear to be any valves in your model. It only consists of pipes, junctions and two reservoirs. So, nothing happens during the transient simulation.
You will need to use a valve element (such as a TCV or VLA) and configure it to simulate the desired closure. Here are some resources to help you with this:
Modeling Reference - Valve Closure
HAMMER Training Part 7b: Causes of Transients Part 3: Valve Closure
(also see "Valve_Closure_Example" model included in the Samples folder within the HAMMER installation folder)
If you have a specific question about something in your model, please let us know.
Hi, thanks for the guidance. Here is the file as desired. My demanded flow at the end reservoir is 792 L/s in this 900mm diameter. I wanted to check whether my profile has any pressure surges /vapour volumes when there is a valve closure. Both the reservoirs are open to atmosphere. 5342.water supply profile.rar
.wtg.sqlite -Database file is also required to open the model. Go to Hammer > File > Save to Package and upload that zip file.

Thanks Scott,
I understand now, however, I wanted to check whether my profile has any pressure surges vapour volumes, it's a 900mm, 62 km gravity line with ups and downs along the route. Please see the attached file and help me, if you can as I am using this software first time. From Usman.wtg
