I have been utilizing the Element Property Inferencing Tool in order to obtain slope and invert of unknown conduits/manholes that are between two known manholes. Occasionally, after running the tool, there are no error messages, but the section in which the tool was used remains unchanged. It also appears that manhole inverts in a different part of the model are changed. I am unsure if this is something I am doing wrong with the tool or if this is a bug.
Hello Ryan,
The following link has information on the Element Property Inferencing tool: Using Element Property Inferencing to populate missing elevations or elements. There are a few notes in this wiki that may be helpful. If there are branches in the model, you may need to use the tool a few times to fill everything in. You may also want to check the setting for Set Invert to Start/Stop, as this setting can have an impact on the results.
Regards,
Scott
To add to Scott's reply - regarding the possible bug - first, ensure you're using the latest version of SewerGEMS (currently 10.03.04.053, check under File > Help > About).
Next, if you see this situation again (where inverts in a different part of the model are changed), please try to capture a copy of the "before" version of the model and exact steps to reproduce, and send it to us so that we can reproduce and report to our developers. We'll need the steps to reproduce in order to fix it. Is it possible that those manholes in other parts of the model have duplicate labels? (the same label as one of the manholes along the desired inferencing path?)

I am currently using 10.03.03.44, so it is possible this is the issue. I have been able to intentionally reproduce this issue, but I am unsure why inferencing over xyz path causes this but not over abc path. I checked to make sure there were no duplicate labels, and there are not between manholes. There a some conduits with the same label as manholes. Although I am working on an older version, if it still desired to receive captures of the before/after, I can.
It is possible that upgrading may help, but I could not locate a record of this specific issue being addressed in a recent version. Upgrading would be beneficial anyways, as we are always adding enhancements and new features.
If the problem still occurs after upgrading, please do provide a copy of the "before" model and steps to reproduce the issue.
