Just a general question. Lately, I have been using Franklin to provide pump information for my water and sewer models. Their product information is excellent but it would be great if their pumps and associated information was already in a library for modeling. Has any manufacturer provided their product information in a library for Bentley products like WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS?
Thanks
Hello,
Since there is a very large number of pump manufacturers, it is not feasible for us to include a library of pump information with the products. It is typically acceptable to take the specification information from the manufacturer and enter the head vs. flow curve for the pump. (and efficiency curve if needed) The user interface makes it easy to enter the head vs. flow curve and you can even paste in the values from a spreadsheet if needed. Also once you have the pump definitions entered in one model, you can export them to the Engineering Library for use in other models. See: Reusing Pump Definitions (Import / Export)
The only other library information I can think of that has been provided by manufacturers in the past is Vortex Valve rating curves and underground Storage Chamber Rating curves (used in SewerGEMS, CivilStorm and PondPack). See the section "CULTEC and StormTech Chambers" in this article and read about Hydro International vortex valves here.
