Flow meters

The network I am modeling already has the dma's setup and there are flowmeters at the beginning of these dma's. My question is how does one represent the flowmeter in the model?

  • We usually have flow meters (magnetic flow meters) without any significant headloss, but we also model these using GPV elements by assigning a "flat" headloss curve with almost no headloss (0.01m for example). By modeling them as GPV elements we can assign both flow & pressure scada elements to these GPV elements to have these conveniently at the same location as the real meter.
