Today i am in trouble while computing water CAD analysis. i have basically two spring source and i provide a collection box which directs them to service reservoir or Tank in our case. However, after putting every important parameters and finally making it to validate, it says no problem was found. where as, after computing the analysis, the arrow that indicates the flow shows, the flow is again back to its initial sources. Actually its not my desire to design the water from service reservoir to spring source. i want to design the flow from tank to down streams through gravity. Is there anyone who helps me please!
regards!!
Water flows down the hydraulic grade line. Therefore, a good way to debug your problem is to draw the hydraulic profile along some path through your system. Use the profile tools View > Profile and you'll be able to find the problem.
In your case, your source my be hydraulically lower than the tank or some similar error. If the tank is higher than the source, you may need a pump. If there is another source at a higher HGL than the spring, it can back up the spring.
It should be easy to identify the problem and correct the error.
thanks very much for showing help
but in my case the spring is located in highest elevation relative to other water supply component. i don't know the reason why the water back to spring sir.
am looking forward for further support

Hello Samuel,
If you are using a tank downstream of the spring, one thing you may want to look at is the operating range type set for the tank. This link has information on this: Understanding tank operating range. If the tank operating range is set to Level, the value you would enter for the minimum, initial, and maximum values will be relative to the base elevation of the tank. If you enter value for Level (Initial) that equals water elevation instead of the water level, this would mean the hydraulic grade at the tank is higher. You can check the calculated hydraulic grade at the tank to confirm this as well.
In addition to seeing the profile, as Dr. Walski suggested, you can also provide a copy of the model files.

Scott
