Today i am in trouble while computing water CAD analysis. i have basically two spring source and i provide a collection box which directs them to service reservoir or Tank in our case. However, after putting every important parameters and finally making it to validate, it says no problem was found. where as, after computing the analysis, the arrow that indicates the flow shows, the flow is again back to its initial sources. Actually its not my desire to design the water from service reservoir to spring source. i want to design the flow from tank to down streams through gravity. Is there anyone who helps me please!
regards!!
Usually this is a sign that the pipes and pumps are too small for the demands. You need to find the weak links in your design and correct them. Look for pipes with a very high velocity and upsize them.
thanks so much! Today i come up with a lot of gratitude. you are here really to support me. i got the problem and right now it is already fixed. i hope you are the most important person to offer a help.

Hello Samuel,
This is occurring because of the tank settings. You are using Level as the operating range type, but the values you have included are for an elevation. In your model, the base elevation is set to 2180 meters and the minimum level is set to 2181 meters. Since the level operating range type is relative to the base elevation, the hydraulic grade at the tank is 4361 meters (2181+2180). This is reflected is the tank results as well. Because the hydraulic grade in the tank is higher than the hydraulic grade of the reservoir, the flow goes from the tank to the reservoir.
To fix the issue, you can do one of two things. You can either continue to use level, but set the minimum level to 0 meters, the initial level the 1 meter, and maximum elevation to 3 meters. Or you can change the operating range type to Elevation and use the values you have already entered.
The link provided earlier has more information on this.
