Sample size when collecting data

First of all, are there a minimum number of data collection points per foot of pipe required for calibration of a steady state model in WaterCAD, or possibly an interval at which data should be collected from the central water source?

  • Hello Christen,

I don't know that there is a minimum number of data points required. I would recommend taking a look at this wiki article, which will likely be useful, even if you are not using Darwin Calibrator: Water Model Calibration Tips. There are links to some articles included here. The Advanced Water Distribution Modeling and Management book may also includes some additional recommendations.

    Regards,

    Scott
