When I try to use "Find shortest Path" from network navigator I keep getting the following message. What could be the problem here?
Hello Christen,
If you are not already, please download and install the latest version of WaterCAD. The latest version is 10.04.00.108.
If that doesn't help, we will need the details of the error message you are seeing. In the error dialog, you can see a small button in the lower left that says "Click here for details..." Click this to get the details of the error message and provide that to us.
Regards,
Scott
I’ve have not downloaded the latest version yet because that has to go through someone else which could cost me time right now.
The version of watercad I currently have is 10.03.05.05
Should I not be able to use all the feautrues on it regardless.
I’ve sent the error details I am currently receiving without updatingError Details.txt
Based on the error details, the problem could be related to the use of 3D length. Check to see if "Use 3D Length?" is set to True in the Hydraulic Model tab of the Options dialog. Go to File > Options, choose the Hydraulic Model tab and set "Use 3D Length?" to False and see if that resolves the issue.
If not, try validating the model, fix any validation issues listed and try again. If the issue still occurs, please provide a copy of the model and any steps needed to reproduce (the start/stop elements for the shortest path query).

That worked. Thank you.
To close the loop on this - I have reproduced the issue in the latest WaterGEMS and found it is due to a combination of the 3D Length option and using customer meters with taps and laterals. This has been reported to our development team (reference # 1040117) and I have added a note about this to the following related article: Problems with using 3D Length - crash or "Unexpected Node element type"
