WaterCAD Annotation Labels Location Reset When Changing Scenarios

Within my water model, I have multiple scenarios for different phasing. When I change the scenarios, which turns on/off certain pipes; the annotation labels for the pipes and junctions change location. For example, if I had dragged a junction label to not overlap, it defaults back to the original location when the scenario is changed. Any idea on how to set the label locations, so that they don't change when you either close/open the drawing or change scenarios?

Thank you!

  • Hi Steve,

I was not able to reproduce this with a junction label in the included Example5 model (in the Samples folder within the WaterCAD installation folder). I used the latest version which is currently 10.04.00.108.

Please check your version number under File > Help > About and consider upgrading if you're on an older version.

Also, try testing the sample file to determine if the problem is computer-specific or model specific.

If it is model-specific, check the annotation properties and try toggling the "Initial offset" check box (see this). Also, make sure Auto refresh is checked (View > Refresh > auto refresh) See this.

Lastly, try closing the model, deleting the model's .DWH file, then re-open. You can also try "Synchronize Drawing" under File > Database Utilities and try toggling "accelerated redraw" under File > Options.

If this does not help, and you're using the latest version and the issue is model-specific, please provide a copy of the model for review and reply here with the file name and steps to reproduce: Sharing Hydraulic Model Files on the OpenFlows Forum

  • This has happened to me as well.

  • Hello, please provide specifics on the issue - does it happen every time you change scenarios? Did any of the suggestions in my previous answer help?
