Trying to import "Data Source" from  Civil dxfout  file and get this message.

I redid "dxfout" 3x with same result.

  • Hello Dick,

I have renamed the subject of this discussion to better match the topic.

It looks like you're referring to the use of ModelBuilder to import a DXF file. To troubleshoot this I have a few questions for you:

    1. At what point during the ModelBuilder process does this error appear? Are you able to select the file (after choosing "CAD Files" as the source type) and click the Preview option?
    2. What version of CivilStorm are you using and are you using the Standalone version or within AutoCAD? If using the AutoCAD integrated platform, does the same issue occur when using the Standalone version?
    3. Have you tried the guidance in the following related article? Error when importing a .DXF file with ModelBuilder "Attempted to read or write protected memory..."
    4. If the error occurs later on in the process, have you followed the guidance in this article for the configuration of the ModelBuilder steps?
    5. What type of information is in the DXF? Can you confirm in AutoCAD that it consists of polylines and points?
    6. Have you tried saving to an earlier DXF format?
    7. Can you share a copy of the DXF file for review? See this.
