In the current release of OpenFlows FLOOD it's only possible to setup a 2D grid water elevation boundary condition for the entire grid using the terrain elevation as criteria for selecting which grid cells are actually open boundary grid cells.
In the RunOff options you can select the option "Impose boundary water level" to True. Then set the boundary water level. Using the user interface it's only possible to set a fixed boundary water level. To set a variable boundary water level, please follow these instructions. If the boundary water level is higher than the water elevation at the boundary cells and you want to compute water inflow from the boundary into the grid set the option "Allow boundary inflow" to True. If this option is set to false, then water will only flow out of the grid (if the water level inside in higher than the boundary water level) and never flow in from the boundary. By default, all grid cells along the edge of the active grid will be boundary grid cells. It's possible to set the open boundary condition at only some areas of the boundary. This is done using a terrain elevation criteria ("Boundary maximum terrain elevation"), which states that only grid cells with terrain elevation lower than the defined boundary maximum terrain elevation will be boundary grid cells. By default it's set to 10000m (which higher than any point on Earth), so this means that all grid cells at the edge of the grid are potentially boundary grid cells. If you lower the "Boundary maximum terrain elevation" value then only grid cells with terrain elevation below this value will be considered as boundary.
In the upcoming versions of FLOOD and SewerGEMS (with 2D capabilities), it will be possible to select specific areas of the grid and attribute different boundary water levels at specific areas of the grid.
