Hello,
I have a water model (using WaterGEMS Connect) with several tanks that are not cycling as expected during a 72-hour EPS scenario. All of the controls appear to be set correctly. One tank in particular that is filled by a pump will actually fill above its maximum specified elevation. A graph of this tank's hydraulic grade shows it reaching greater than 100% full at several time stamps. There are other strange results at other tanks. I will send the model file via the Secure File Upload link with additional information on how to reproduce the results after this post is made. I would appreciate any insight.
Thank you,
Jose
Sorry, I should have given more information in the initial post.
-In the model file I provided, run the 'EPS Run' scenario.
- The tank mentioned above is 'BROAD-MESA-TANK'.
- Other tanks that don't seem to be cycling properly are: RIDGE TANK, NAV. MTN TANK #2, MILLION DOLLAR TANK, and INSCRIPTION-HOUSE-NORTH
- after running the scenario, graph the hydraulic grade of the tanks to see the results in question.
Thanks,
Hello Jose,
This appears to be related to the value entered for Volume (Inactive). This is set at 45000 MG, when the tank itself is only 0.05 MG. When I set the Volume (Inactive) to zero, the results appeared to make more sense.
Information on the inactive volume can be found here: Understanding Tank Operating Range.
Regards,Scott

Thank you, Scott. This does seem to fix the issues I was observing.
