Hello,
I'm simulating a stormwater network where I have a pond. in the pond outlet channel I need to introduce a stop control structure and assign a orifice gate where I can open/close it with SWWM control set
using pond water level. My issue is , in SWMM control set, how should I introduce(keyword) the pond? (as it is not a node).
Thanks and Regards
Nishadi
Nishadi,
In EPA-SWMM, ponds are treated as nodes, and when a SewerGEMS model is computed with the SWMM solver, it is internally converted to a storage node element. So, even though the pond is a polygon in SewerGEMS, you would treat it as a node in the SWMM controls. So, the controls might look something like this:
RULE 1AIF NODE PO-1 DEPTH < 1THEN ORIFICE O1 SETTING = 0PRIORITY 1
RULE 1BIF NODE PO-1 DEPTH > 3THEN ORIFICE O1 SETTING = 1PRIORITY 2
I have added a note about this to the following related Wiki article: Using SWMM Control Sets in SewerGEMS and CivilStorm

Thanks Jesse. Yes it worked
