Hello Luis,
I have just created a new simulation that seems to be struggling somewhere that I can't find.
I have tried all my memories to find the problem, but the error persists. I will send you the files. (SIM 1)
Openflows Flood 10.03.00.01
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I took a look at the workspace. There are several issues:
1) The solution you are reading from the HDF5 has "bad values" for "water level", "velocity U" and "velocity V". All values are set to 9.969209968386869E+36, so you need to check why this is happening and fix it.
2) Also the solution you are reading from the HDF5 file covers an area larger than your computational grid. When reading an "imposed solution" that solution has to be saved from a simulation using the same computational grid. As the data in the larger area HDF5 has only 1 layer (equivalent to 2D), you can use the tool "HDF Files -> Interpolate" to interpolate from the larger HDF5 solution to your computational grid. If it was 3D (multiple layers) you would need to use the external "ConvertToHDF5" tool and take into account the vertical discretization of both the original HDF5 solution and the vertical discretization of your model.
3) Also, in the Geometry file (where you set the vertical discretization), you've set 3 vertical layers but the solution you're reading from the HDF5 file was saved from a simulation with only one vertical layer. That is not possible.
After fixing this 2 issues you can try again and if there's additional problems please let me know.
Kind regards,Luis
Thank you for the feedback.
Regarding issue 2, I guessed interpolation could happen with keywords in Hydrodynamic file, is there no way for that?
I am preparing the solutions and hopefully it will work. I will let you know if it doesn't. lol
It maybe possible to setup interpolation in runtime but that's just time consuming. If you do it before the run you only do it once and can use it for several simulations.
Can you give more details about the purpose of the simulation? If you're using the imposed hydrodynamic solution to force a Lagrangian model, simply use the original HDF5, no need to interpolate the hydrodynamics to a new grid.
The purpose of the simulation is exactly what you predicted: to impose a hydrodynamic data (from CMEMS) in a region that they have good coverage, so Hydrodynamic would be calculated and incorporated by openflows flood and forced by Lagrangian models later on.
It finally worked. Thanks a lot
Here is some documentation regarding this thread on How to read an pre-computed hydrodynamic solution with OpenFlows FLOOD's MOHID Water engine.
